Our architectural team lead this complex design for a PET MRI facility located at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital.
The project was a collaboration between the hospital and University to create one of only four such facilities in the country. Castle Owen as project architects initially lead a site appraisal and feasibility study where alternative sites were considered. The site ultimately selected was challenging because of its narrow width, location within a conservation area and proximity to the accident and emergency department. Our architectural team obtaining all statutory consents and progressed the design to RIBA stage 4 because of the complexities involved. The Castle Owen team were then appointed by the contractor to develop the design for construction. We work closely with the contractor team to ensure the overall aesthetic including brickwork detailing was delivered.
