Our Commitment to Sustainable Design
As individuals and as a company we believe passionately that sustainability should be at the centre of all that we do.
Recognising that Castle Owen has the potential to make a significant impact on the environment, it is our intention we make a positive contribution, and that we work in ways which add value to the lives of our employees, our clients and their communities. We take this potential impact into consideration in every commercial, financial, economic and environmental decision we undertake.
We aim to act as a responsible member of the local community and consider our impact on it, in particular with regard to our office location and employees’ movements to and from the office. We seek to recruit new staff and work with new suppliers where the local community will benefit most strongly.
We have published our carbon reduction plan and we are committed to achieving net zero by 2030 ahead of the governments requirement.
We are signatories to the architects declare movement.
Castle Owen are committed to integrating sustainability into all aspects of design.
A suitable design cannot be achieved as an afterthought – it requires all parties to think from the outset how the building will minimise its impact upon the environment whilst promoting economic and social sustainability.
The principles of sustainable design run through all aspects of our work.
Sustainability is a corporate priority and we endeavour to take the lead in promoting best practice standards.
